Connect a push button on the adaptec controller to test whether the em lock can open when the push button is pressed.
Here are the main troubleshooting methods you can use to tackle the most common magnetic door lock points of failure.
If not adjust the magnet out to the door or remove the plate on the door and pack it out with card or paper.
The mis alignment can cause the door to grind on either the frame or the floor.
This lock set up is constructed by fixing a plate of magnetic metal usually iron to the door and the electromagnet to the door frame.
Similar to door closer issues door alignment issues can wreak havoc on any door hardware including mag locks.
This causes vibrations that could be impacting the mag lock.
Ensure doors are hung on sturdy frames and well aligned making sure the door fits the frame and that the door closer is not too tight or badly fitted.
If it works properly under this test you need to adjust the door so.
The strength of the magnetic force holding the door closed will depend on how the coil is wound.
You can determine if this is the issue by applying pressure on the door so the lock latch is not pushing against the strike gate and then actuating the electric lock.
Mis aligned doors also put undue stress on the hardware.
First check for voltage at the lock if voltage is present and the door is not locked then the lock is the problem.
The maglock doesn t release the door by pushing the exit button.
Second if you do not have voltage at the lock check the sensitivity adjustment potentiometer on the back of the board turning the pot counter clockwise will decrease the sensitivity and the bar may begin to function.
